1. Sorry, but how would you all have handled this situation differently if you were Gillis? The league basically made him unmovable when they decided to retroactively punish contracts they'd previously ratified. Previously Luongo apparently nixed a few potential destinations when Gillis tried to accommodate his trade request. Or maybe you think teams should just throw tens of millions of dollars to make contracts go away? Was the team supposed to not start Cory Schneider when he was playing at an elite level?

Ryan Braun finally said it: He took performance-enhancing drugs

1. Apology not accepted. You cheated (twice), knew you cheated, lied about it, and when you got off on a technicality ruined the man's life that was in charge of the sample and accused him of being a Jew hater. So this flimsy "apology" will only go so far.

2. Why isn't he being suspended for 211 games? He obstructed, lied, and was just as much a #$%$ as ARod. Take back his MVP award. Allow his contract to be renegotiated. Force him to pay reparations to the sample collector he destroyed.

4.  Ryan Braun is a cheat and a liar and only apologized when his back was to the wall. He dishonored himself, the game, and most importantly, his friends. His suspension is too short and should have been at least 100 games.

5. Exactly, they should strip him of his MVP trophy and name Matt Kemp the MVP, he had a better year than Braun the Idiot. There is no exception for what he did. He deserves to be banned from baseball for good. If I was a pitcher I would bean him on his first at bat if he comes back to MLB. This should not be allowed first suspension for 50 games and now a 65 game suspension. What is wrong with MLB, there is no need for players to represent the league doing like this. Wake up and smell the coffee and get rid of this clown once and for all.

The National Hockey League is condemned .

1. The NHL frequently cuts away during fights, not showing them. It does not replay nasty hits over and over like the NFL or other sports does, just for the viewers. It has a history of protecting its athletes. I just feel like comments like the Doctors above are more about HIS notoriety rather than the actual state of the NHL today.

2. Until someone brutally dies I don't think they are going to be harsher in punishments, so even if a check like Chara's was intentional, it still wouldn't get more than a few games. Even McSorley's assault on Brashear only landed him 23 games despite having to dodge actual jail time.

3. The problem is any hit to the head should get a penalty. Its not called. Some games the get away with murder others get everything called??? These guys can put a puck threw a few inches. They know what there doing with elbow's and Sticks up. Hitting is part of the game, but you can do it without contact to the head.


4.I love how its the Canadian Hockey Clubs that are leading the way with Hockey is to rough.... Didn't Canadians invent hockey and the brutality of the sport? Isn't the majority of goons Canadian players? Suban? Marchand? McSorley? Breashear, Neilin (SP)... etc...

Canadian teams went are more European and play that wimp style... maybe they should get tougher players...
