**Well it's Canada and it so happens Eugenie had a successful 2013 per where she is in her career right now. Watch out for her next year; she's talented and her grit is what I love most about her.

**I went through all of the slides but I must be missing something.....who is this chick and why is she featured?

**"Following a breakout 2013"??? from what? The college ranks? A food allergy? Her momma's house?

**Reading comments always reminds that more than half the people in the world have a double digit IQ...most of them are too dumb to get out once in awhile, yet they still post comments.. "Too often verbosity is confused with intelligence"..lol

**Wish her success

**why are most tennis players not wihite girls from the U.S.....where are they..ummm..Oh . I know, they can only cheerlead..and work for fox news...as blonde...

**i had lower back surgery 12 years ago for a bulging disc. although the surgery was successful in alleviating much of the pain, I still really have to watch myself in terms of how much weight I can lift and carry and I really have to use great body mechanics or risk the disc in my back relapse. I had to give up golf because the swing was too violent a motion on my back and lead to pain. I also cannot sit for long or sleep in same position without feeling pain despite my surgery. romo will never be the same, he will come back (no doubt) but the impact of several hits by large guys will eventually run it's course, he will continue to miss starts until he finally retires. backs are really tricky for people once they have major surgery, you just can't do what you did before injury without paying the price.

**The whole Cowboy organization made me laugh this week. Romo was rumored to be out for the season on Monday. They really tried to pull the wool over the eyes of The Eagles but as Chip Kelly said "We ain't gonna fall fro the banana in the tailpipe trick". I feel bad that Romo has to go through surgery & hope he gets well so he is healthy enough next year so The Eagles can kick his butt. The way I see it, all is not well in JerryLand.

**The saddest part, this "excuse" will be reason enough for the poor excuse for an owner to justify his continued support of the loser coaches he has hired. Jerry Jones and Jason Garrett needed an excuse for yet another losing season. Now they can blame it on Romo getting hurt. Of course it is somehow Romo's fault that the Cowboys have given up 408 points this year. It is his fault that Jerry Jones went and hired a proven loser for the defensive coordinator. It is also his fault that the Cowboys are still coached by the proven loser Garrett.

**I fully expected this. I'm NOT a Dallas fan, but I couldn't believe some people actually thought Romo might play this weekend. A herniated disk is a SERIOUS injury !! And the back is a very vulnerable thing. It would be just plain CRAZY for Tony to play. I've been dealing with back problems since my early 20's, and back problems are a real #$%$ !!!!! Seems to me that if Romo played this weekend and took a big hit, he could be REALLY messed up, perhaps permanently ! He could sustain a career ending injury. He's doing the right thing, I think. To hell with the play-offs this year. His back, and his future are more important. Get the surgery, and have the entire off-season to get that back healthy again. Smart move.

**Look, I'm no Dallas fan or Tony Romo fan. But that said, all it would take is one clear shot by a 300+ lb. lineman and that could put Tony in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. It just isn't worth it. This team needs work in a lot of other places anyway. So jeopardizing your starting QB for a so so shot at the play offs, not smart. Get him fixed up, get some real help in the draft, let some players go, and start building the team for next year.

**I'm a Giants fan. With that being said, Romo should NEVER have been considered to play. He couldn't walk. The poor guy was hopping he was in so much pain. Those coaches should be fired for even thinking an injury that severe could be played through (actually, I think they are all going to lose their jobs anyway, but that is another story).

**The Dallas Cowboys don't deserve Tony Romo. I don't believe they understand what it is, to not have a real A-list name at the helm. They ask him to carry the entire team on his back and then scream when something goes wrong. JEEZ are they spoiled. Come to KC sometime it's been 43 years since we saw a Super bowl and the same amount of time since we had a quarterback (Len Dawson) The Hunt family couldn't be worse owners. SO THINK ABOUT IT WHEN YA TALK ABOUT ROME CAUSE HE IS PRETTY GOOD!!!!!

**I was a defensive tackle, had my first back surgery in 1974. I am now recovering from my fourth that was done in Oct. this year. I loved football, but I wonder if I would do it again.

**Hey Jerry this is what happens when your QB gets knocked on his #$%$ over and over again and always running for his life because he has zero protection. Do you think Belichick would ever let this happen to Brady, you stupid #$%$. You pay him all that money to take a beating every week ??? Then all the fools who never played the position rip him none stop for not winning talk about a jerkoffowner !!!

**I didn't watch the game--just the highlights--so curious, when did the back injury occur? Is it when he almost got sacked by the leg towards the end of the game, his sock rolled down and then started limping? If so, as a back disc sufferer, seems to me like his disc was already in bad shape. I didn't see any traumatic movement. Just tumbling, hunching over and then back up...That sucks in any event. Tough to end the season like that..

**again the cowboys likely knew this yesterday and before when 6 media outlets reported he was out for the season. also remember orton lost his job to tim tebow and his last meanigful full game was week 17 2011 at denver, when he one a snoozefest 7-3 as the broncos had nothing to play for in that game and showed it

**Personally I would have brought in a running QB such as Vince Young to fill the role of back up to Orton. The reason is in one week it's almost impossible to get timing down with your receivers. It's much easier to have a QB that can keep a play alive with his legs and throw shorter passes. What do you think?

**Birds beware. Another trap game. Orton could be a starter on a number of teams in this league. The fact that we can't predict what he would do makes him, in my opinion, more of a threat than Romo. God bless Tony and the Cowboys. EAGLES, bring home the NFC East Championship.

**I'm in no way a Cowboy fan, but I'm glad that Tony didn't go the Sugar Rae Lenard way, if you recall that fool was a fighter that was told another heavy blow could blind him for life and he took the chance and got lucky. Great move Tony, living a normal life is more important than a damned football game!

**Sensible decision by Romo and Cowboys management to get surgery done. Back issues should never be taken lightly, especially something like a herniated disc. Getting Romo back to 100% is much more important than playing him & risking further injury which could cause permanent damage. Good luck Romo, hope you're back 100% next season. All the best to the 'boys for making the playoffs.....

**Wise decision having the surgery, better to live and play another day and hopefully in better shape. Look what happened to RG3, he came back too soon. My prayers are with Tony and his family and hope for a full recovery. Now it's time for the rest of the team to step up. Tony got you this far lets beat the Eagles. Good luck Tony!

** bulging discs are not fun. I had surgery for an even worse condition, the dreaded herniated disc and things are much better. bulging discs can be painful but once it herniates, surgery is the only option. not sure why a bulging disc requires surgery to be honest. stretching the spine is the way to go with that, but he's a pro athlete, and money is no option.

**I do not believe the prior back surgery was minor and involved more than we are told. Credibility with Jerrah is all smoke and mirrors. On another note, QB should be a priority in this years draft. The 1st and 2nd should go for DE/DT and OG. I believe QB McCarron of Alabama could be available after that and would be a good prospect along with QB Tanney if we can get him back from Cleveland.

**I've had the exact same surgery at the age of 26 and have not been the same since, not 1 good nights sleep in over 12 years with back pain on a daily basis. Anyone that has ever had that "minor" surgery knows that he will NEVER be 100% again. I hate the cowboys but wish Tony a healthy recovery...

**Dear Eric, I presume you were alive on 1/4/10 When TR lead the Pokes in a 24-0 whipping of the Iggles for the Eastern Div crown as both teams finished 11-6, no? So much for 0-3 in Div clinching opportunities! I'm guessing that you were around the following week when he did a second week in a row to beat those same Iggles 34-14! If you want to bash TR, the least you could do is be factually correct!

**Ok, until this week I've never liked Romo, but now I really feel bad for the guy. He was obviously in a lot of pain during the 4th qtr Sunday, and he sucked it up and finished. Then they find out the extent of his injury and Garrett, and Jerry Jones have tried to use the media to guilt him into playing on Sunday, and that's just wrong. I'll bet Jones has something negative to say about him.

**Jerry has wasted another good QB by not having the team around him that he needed to perform his best. Defense is the problem now. Since Jones sent the last defense coach a telegram at the end of last season letting him know he was fired---that coach went to New Orleans and last I heard their defense was second in the league....so... "What the HEdoubleL are you doing Jerry?"

**Just hope they found a good neuro-surgeon to do the micro-surgery on his back...Had mine done years ago, and after suffering for 13 years, I was completely pain free and out running 2 weeks after surgery...It makes a big difference in who does the surgery...

** I'm sure he hurt it by having to carry the General Manager's poor use of free agency and loss of players who could contribute through the draft. Tony Romo is the little engine that could. He has carved out a great career at quarterback in the NFL. Sometimes numbers (wins and championships: like Archie Manning or Dan Marino) do not directly reflect the greatness of play. Football is a team sport. The NFL is a team sport from the front office to the practice squad players. There is a reason the NFL pension begins at 3 1/2 years. Defense still wins championships--ask the 2009 Giants.

**Even if Tony Romo was playing, the Eagles would win easily. So it's smart on the Cowboys' part to start his rehab early, get the surgery out of the way, and prevent any further damage to his back. I am not a Tony Romo fan, but from Dallas' perspective, this is the smart move. Unfortunately they just don't have the pieces (read: defense) to compete for a Super Bowl, and that's not Romo's fault.

**Jones demands control of team. Then he needs to take control. Not let someone walk off the field so he can go cry. No character. True cowboy fans, remember back several years. Coach landry was at the helm. We had a really good linebacker named hollywood henderson. Off the field he ran his mouth in the press. Tom didn't let him on the field on next sunday. Monday morning he was off the team. He ended up trying to make it with the rams but couldn't. Tom kept his players ready and with class or your out. Record for tom's watch, 2-5 in superbowl play. He got there. Did you tickets for jerry also romo. It's the least you could do with all the money jones wasted on you. Good Luck Tony Romo.

**I this so STUPID that this is a topic. All teams would love someone like this,... who can actually put the puck in the net! I can't believe that these babies actually have an edicate on how to score a goal! BTW, did you know that it is disrecpectful if you score the first goal when playing away from home!!! There is an unwritten rule, when playing on the road, it is only polite to let the home team score first...BUNCH OF JOKERS! AL

**My kid is the goalie on his traveling team, and if I saw a kid score a goal with moves like that, I'd tell him congrats and tell my kid now you know what he can do, so work on stopping it. How is this even newsworthy???? Get over it.

**it was a great goal. There should be more like that. Biron shouldn't be mad at Hertl, he should be mad at the defence for letting him in all alone. Sorry Rangers, but you made your own bed.

**This is a little off topic, but I want to pose this question: I dont know how many goals that goalie had against him by the time that last fancy goal went past him, but here's what i think: why wasnt the goalie pulled? Also, i think if a guy is feeling off he should be able to pull himself, without major repercussion.

**Cherry's just mad cuz he was a career minor leaguer with 1 game in the NHL...he could only dream of scoring such a nifty goal....he was drummed out of Boston and Colorado becuz of his boorish behaviour...like shut up Don...

**His goal was perfectly good goal. There was nothing wrong with it. If we are talking about the same goal it looks like he went in between the legs because he already passed it and it would be hard to reach back and get it. A goal is a goal. Good for him.

**Wow, what a b!tch comment from Cherry. What if Biron was my brother, son or Daddy? Are you serious? I didn't even know who was in net for the Rangers let alone made fun of them. Does Cherry want fighting out of the game too? Did he go soft skinned panty-waste on us? Jesus Tinkerbell, here's a tissue. An 18 year old kid made a sick move. End of story.

**If Hertl had been stopped while doing that trick, everyone would have laughed at him. Even his own team would have ribbed him. It is still a game, Don.

**I like Don Cherry but I just see him being a hypocrite, we all know if its not Canadian in any part its always wrong, but if its Canadian if would be ok. Just saying

**I can't believe there is any controversy. IF YOU DON'T WANT SOMEONE TO SCORE A GOAL LIKE THAT...THEN STOP HIM!!! A kid who can score 4 goals in a game and get a beauty like that has every right to be pleased with himself. Extra points, of course, for doing it against the Rags.

**a brilliant goal by a brilliant kid good for him your're gonna tell me gretzky lemieux and crosby have done nothing less spectacular? and just remember bobby orr's iconic diving goal

**So let me get this straight...players shouldn't even try to score highlight reel goals because other players might be embarrassed to get beaten? When did the hockey playing community turn into a giant collection of female genitalia? So Biron got beat, badly...so what? Is this peewee? Is there a mercy rule? Should teams get fined because the other team hurt their feelings? For f**ks sake, what a bunch of whiny nonsense. I've seen guys play through broken legs, play after pieces of their faces have been cut off, spit out teeth and keep going, but now these guys can't handle getting beat by a non-traditional shot?

**I am pretty sure nobody gave The Great One a hard time for scoring goals both fancy and in absurd numbers. The fact is the kid scored a great goal in a great game of his young NHL career.

**Don Cherry is a fossil in the same league as Bud Selig, except thankfully he has no input in the way the game is played. Championing the outdated "code" that exist in North American hockey is a draconian philosophy. This young man brings energy, enthusiasm and charisma, which to be honest is such a novel concept considering how many players and games are a bore to watch because they lack character and personality. I do believe in abiding by a code of respect, but they are pros. This is the best of the best going at it, and if you ask me, mercy in professional sports comes back to bite you in the #$%$ it's called complacency. I have no idea why this fossil, being a former pro and coach, would make an oversight like that. Do you think Hertl cares about the feelings of the Rangers, or keeping his spot in the roster? I ask you who's the true pro, the guy who wants his job and will do anything for it, or the guy who lets up because he feels bad for the other team?

**all teams have cheerleaders and all teams have girls just as pretty and shapely but you just cant beat the dallas cowgirls team uniform....it just makes them even hotter

**The Texans fans must be the worst. They should support their team win or lose. The way some have acted lately especially towards Shaub is a downright disgrace.

**That first one (Dallas Cowboys) could make me write bad checks!

**The Cowboy squad is T&A above, I mean head and shoulders above, the rest.

**Damn! Made my day coming to view the cheerleaders of the week!

**I don't care which team you support, The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and The Houston Texan's Cheerleaders are the best by far!!

**I love that the DC Cheerleaders are one of the few, if not only, to not wear a skirt over their short shorts.

**I just hope he knows when to stop and can retire with the dignity and record he deserves. So many of these guys end up staying past their time and its sad to see greats like BJ Penn and Dan Henderson getting pummeled by guys they would have destroyed earlier in their careers.

**Andrew: now you're talkin'! I don't want to see Hendo take any more brain trauma either, though I will sorely miss him when he's gone. I hope he steps away before he starts to sound like another of my favorites, The Iceman, who hung around for a few too many KOs, sadly.

**I think GSP deserves to retire after Hendricks. His fights may not be as exciting like Jon Jones or JDS but he destroyed his competition. As for Hendrick I would recommened that Hendrick better finish the fight within the first 10 minutes or his cardio will run out.

**GSP retiring after his fight with Hendricks would be timely considering Rory Mac's rise up the ranks. If Rory gets past Lawler in his next fight, there would be no reason to deny Rory a shot at the vacated title. Ideally, that would be against the Condit/Brown winner. I think the timing is right if George chooses to retire and the prospects of Rory/Condit rematch for the belt would be exciting!

**Where is it a given that St Pierre will even beat Hendricks?, Hendricks has just as much of a chance to beat St. Pierre as vice versa. The only thing for sure is that the fight is scheduled for Nov 16. Giving all respect to both of them(both great fighters), things have a way of working out a little differently than most of us expect, Hendricks has a fighters chance. Rory Mac may not be the next big thing, and the Cow may jump over the moon. (Puns intended)

**It's best for fighters to leave one fight early than one fight too late and in GSP's case, he owes nobody an explanation. He has alot of future options available.

**GSP is a hall of fame fighter, probably the best athelete to come out of Canada. He certainly can fight better than all of their hockey players combined. He fought some of the toughest men that ever lived - BJ, Matt Hughes, Nick Diaz and others. He fought BJ and Hughes more than once. He also avenged his loss against Serra. I will miss his class and poise. GSP even out wrestled the best UFC wrestlers. I could go on and on but it's 5:00 a.m. CST.

**This could also prove to be the final piece to making a fight with Anderson Silva happen. If GSP is serious about retiring, he could vacate the WW title as the champ, then make a permanent move up in weight to take on Silva as his final fight. Despite Silva's loss to Weidman, I still think there would be a good amount of interest in a Silva/GSP fight.

**So few fighters go out as champ with a win. If GSP gets the win, then yes, no more. Don't be like so many others. If he has managed his money well, why not? Nothing left to prove.

**No I think Georges is a smart man and knows a person cannot be at the top of his or her game forever, there comes a time to say I have done all I have wanted to do and this can certainly be said with Georges. Nothing else to prove, retire with dignity!

**If anyone that comments has not actually been in the cage, you have no frame of reference. The motivation and intensity it takes to fight at his level is hell to go through. Day in, day out, putting the fight before EVERYTHING in your life. It's not like in football or baseball where those guys can go out a few nights during the week for a few drinks at the club. It's not necessarily what you're willing to put into it, but more about what you are willing to give up. GSP built a solid career, is pulling about 4-5 million a fight now after PPV buys and has nothing left to prove. He may walk away for a bit so he does have to stay busy and defend his title, but I could see him coming back for a couple of "super fights" if he does.

**When GSP retires it will be like Jordan retiring from the NBA. It just won't be the same without GSP. He gave it 100% and like Jordan had a burning desire to be the best. So it was fun watching him rise to the top. And he was the perfect gentleman. As a GSP fan this stings. But I'd rather see an athlete go out on top than to watch him stick around too long.

**There is nothing "rush" about St-Pierre. Since Serra's knock out, St-Pierre has become a boring, predictable, and stalemate of a fighter. His retirement would bring more excitement to welterweight championships. No disrespect to the champ, but he's no longer a fighter.

**This man has been and is a great champion. A legend in UFC. Would hate to see him retire but going out on a high note much preferable to staying too long.

**Quick makes so many brilliant saves though.. so really it's entertaining but who cares. Get em in Soci Quickie!

** I wouldn't be surprised to see Craig Anderson playing in Sochi. If he starts this season as good as he ended the last one they'll have to consider it.

** Kings didn't bother to show up tonight period. It looked like Quick was the only one awake, until he made this mistake. One of the worse games ever by Doughty and Voynov. They were turnover machines. High expectations this year for the Kings, and while it's extremely early... man, what a let down. Wake the **** up!

** He must have watched too much of the Red Green show - "keep your stick on the ice"

** Even the best goalie in the league makes a mistake once in a while. He's won games all himself, the occasional flub can be over looked.

** That was rough, but Quick is one of the best goalies in the NHL. He'll bounce back.

** Hockey can be a weird sport sometimes.

** Quick pulled two bone head plays against the Blues in the playoffs. The Kings still won. He will be fine.
** Reminds me of a similar own-goal by Marty Brodeur in the 2003 Finals. Pretty helpless feeling to accidentally put one in on yourself like that.

** eerily similar to what Broduer did a few years ago and he is one of the all time best.. Bogosian's giveaway to Corey Perry was worse lol

** Thank god this wasnt against Jimmy Howard or else he would have been tared and feathered by some of the Howard haters. Maybe even ran out of Detroit.

** Jonathan Quick only makes $5.8 million a year. If they would just pay him more, then he could be motivated to use all his skills and play much better.

** What worries me is that Quick has been giving up flukes lately in his career, maybe that long contract has taken off the edge in his play..but not all the blame is his, this is the same bunch that couldn't score last year to save their lives and they've picked up from there.

** Awful play by Quick. So far he isn't looking like Olympic material. He got a standing ovation on his next save though. Overall, got outplayed tonight. Love my Kings, but man, get with the program!!!

** Love my Kings but what a sloppy game punctuated by this unfortunate play. Pretty classless of the Rangers to celebrate what was obviously a total fluke play, otherwise congrats to them on a great game.  At least Quick had a sense of humor about it when he made an easy stop of the puck that was flung down the ice later on. Played to the audience who gave him a sarcastic cheer.

** What an amazing game that was though. Not just team for team but goalie against goalie, that was a BANGER game. WOW, still just getting over that. Now we have to play another tough Sharks team tomorrow. It's going to be goood!!!!

**The Vols played with a lot of heart and a lot of guts,,,This is something i rarely saw during the Dooley years...Butch Jones is building a team!...

**after watching the replay in slow motion a few times it looks like Danielson was right the first time when he asked to see if he was gripping the tip of the ball with his fingers upon release which happens almost simultaneously as the ball breaks the plane of the goal line. If so, all that had to had happen would be to break that line with just the other end of the ball for it to be ruled a touchdown. Unbelievable ending in a game I was certain UT would find a way. UGA will likely meet BAMA again and may be the realistic choice from the east to have a chance against them for the SEC championship.

**This Gator is fast becoming a Vol fan also. Tennessee has had a rough go for the last few years. Along with the SEC, I would like nothing better than to see their swag back.

**Goes back to the 4th quarter. Wished Tennessee could've ran another minute off the clock before they scored, Granted, you never want to squander an opportunity to score 7 points, but run 2 more plays, force UGA to use their final timeout, kick the field goal (or score the TD), and give UGA the ball back with 1 minute to play and no timeouts. Might not of needed the OT. Disappointing loss, but this team is moving in the right direction.

**That rule is the dumbest in all of football. I am no tennesee fan nor georgia. If that ball would have been fumbled out of bounds on the 1/2 yard line and tennessee was last to touch it then guess what happens? Tennessee ball on 1/2 yard line. To give the ball to other team is absolutely atrocious way of officiating. I won't even go into the horrid officiating to make sure georgia was able to score to even make it to OT, that is another matter all together. Tennessee won that game no doubt about it, it is an absolute travesty that the refs made sure the scoreboard said georgia did. To go even further ball broke the plane without being out of the range of his hands. In my mind that is a TD, I have seen MUCH MUCH worse actually be called a TD. I would not support this even if it had been my team that won based on a pathetic rule. I hate this because it takes away credibility from the game and CFB is suffering from a massive shortage of that already.

*Craigslist is a breeding ground for mentally disturbed psychopaths and various other criminal weirdos. No way in hell I'd give my approval if I was her.

*She looks pretty good in the high heels. If I was there, I'd take him up on it.

* I'm sure the guy meant well, but let's face it.....he's an idiot. Prostituting out your step daughter for football tickets. Subtly saying that's she's not attractive enough to get her own date without some kind of bribe, finally, going into a world of whack jobs and advertising she's yours plus you get free football tickets.

*He really doesn't care about his stepdaughter, especially when there are better sites for that.

*I'll take her out to McDonald, show her what a classy man I am. Then I'm taking her hand fishing for giant cat fish at the local swamp. Then off to my house in the local swamp to present her to my grandma.

*For the morons: He has four tickets and three people, and he's looking for someone to sit in the fourth seat. That isn't prostitution, people. Nor is it pandering, which is actually the correct charge. Heck, it isn't even scalping. Get a clue.

*this is the girls step father?? you are a very sick person pal. anyone that would advertise their daughter or step daughter that way is a pig and should be tossed in jail.
* He would have had better luck asking this during the Oregon-Tennessee game, if the daughter would consider Duck Green over Creamsicle Vols.

*Ten Bells for a true Champ, and Taps for a great American.
*semper fi big ken thanks for the memories.
*The golden age of boxing......when you could watch a title fight on tv for free.

*Ken Norton senior was a state champion in football in high school and his track coach entered him in 8 track events in 1960? he won all of them and high school athletics instituted the " Ken Norton rule(s)" which limited high school athletes to a max of 3 events in Illinois after that. He was known as the Crab in boxing because of his defensive style of how he held his arms and hands to cover his upper body in defense. RIP Crab I enjoyed many of your athletic accomplishments thanks.

*I was in college and was recovering from a sports injury. I was given an address to go to for rehab. It was Ken Norton's gym in Lake Forest, CA. When I walked in, he was there and he introduced himself. He opened this gym as a way to help himself recover from a terrible auto accident that he said should have left him dead. He ran this gym to help other recover from their injuries. I was shocked when he spent the time with me to make sure I was progressing and healing. He was incredibly kind and this huge man was so soft spoken. He was a great man. My condolences to Ken Norton Jr. and the rest of the Norton family.

*Norton was in the center of a golden age for boxing. Hats off to a great fighter, may he rest in peace.

*Shouldn't it say "Has died" instead of the COLD response "IS DEAD" This generation...

*I remember Ali calling Ken a uncle Tom for his service to America.I think the wrong guy died.

*Ken's son is the Line backer coach for the Seattle Sea Hawks that beat the 49ers last Sunday.

*The golden age of boxing......when you could watch a title fight on tv for free.

* I would of never thought Ali would outlive Frazier and Norton. Legends in classic boxing days.....RIP
*They don't build them like this anymore. This age of boxing is long over unfortunately! RIP.
*He beat the hell out of Ali. RIP Champ!

*This gives me a pain in my heart, and reminds me of how truly great boxing was in the 70's.

* I really hate to bring this up, but, he was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence a week before he quit, and then he got married less than two weeks after he guit...Someone a lot wiser than I once told me, there are two things in life, that he's always found to be true...A scare man can't gamble, and a jealous man can't work...Trust me, this female has a lot more to do with this than he's saying...I'm cool with his explanation, but I'm also reading the fine print...I may have been born yesterday, but it was early yesterday.

*What the hell does "A scare man can't gamble, and a jealous man can't work" mean?

*I agree with him. Money isn't everything. When something you love turns to more work and less fun. I agree, time to leave. Nothing wrong with it.

*Ballard is going to find out soon enough that making the kind of money he made as a football player, is not available to him in regular society, at any other type of employment.

*Walking away from all that money had to be a hard decision. That had to take a lot of guts to do. I hope he finds happiness in whatever he decides to do!

*The guy sounds very grounded, like he has his priorities straight.

*He's grounded in the reality that if you don't enjoy what you are doing, then find something new. I wish him success. To those who will disagree, I have a question. How much money can you take with you when you die?

*I think one thing that some people never consider, is the amount of work some of these guys have put in, by the time they've reached their mid 20s. They gave up most of their summers with friends, to do 2 a day football camps in high school. They spent hours and hours in gyms preparing for College, when most of us were out having a good time. Then there are the private training camps, AAU leagues and personal training facilities, outside of school. And the term "Full ride scholarship", is very misleading. Have you ever seen a division I athlete's actual written weekly schedule? It's not a ride. It's more like a grueling drive. The rules only allow them to to work 20 hours per week on athletics. That's a joke. Try more like, 40 hours per week, just on athletics. Between team drills, personal workouts, squad drills, scrimmage games and team meetings, many college athletes work on their sport full time. And I'm just going by the female athletes I've known. Then they have a full load of classes on top of that and weekly games to travel to. By the time these athletes reach the pros, many of them are already burned out on a lifetime of practicing and working out since the age of 8 or 10. Ex military guys talk about the tough bootcamps that they went through on time in there lives and what a pain in the #$%$ it was. Football players have gone through bootcamps every summer, since they were kids. I'm not comparing the difficulty level, but the frequency over about 15 years, for a 25 year old players is pretty freaking demanding. If you don't really love football to death, you could probably think of a lot better things to do with your young life. And I didn't even mention sitting on a bench for an entire season, recovering from injuries and surgeries and trying to fight through the pain of several rehabs. Again, I'm mostly basing my comments on female basketball players. Football has to be much worse.

*Hope his education serves him well and that he lives a long, healthy, happy long life doing what makes him feel productive and good.
Saved two years. His knees are still good, and his brain's not scrambled. Get a College Degree. Smart Move !!!!

* would think twice about giving away my Job. So many people would love to be in his position. I lost my manager Job after 23 Years. The bills keep piling up and I will tell you it is no fun using up your life savings to get by. Looking for employment forget it , Obama has got everyone downsizing or prn. I wish I could have lasted another 10 years and I would have made it. Now I may not make it. Forget about being able to help your kids or start dating since I am divorced and medical insurance, house payments, electric, gas, credit cards will eat you alive with no jobs that pay well. This is no fun either. So keep your job and be glad someone hasn't downsized you out yet.

* 4th round draft pick in 2011. No way he earned enough money to be "comfortable"

*He will totally regret this in two years and by then it will be too late. He is being short sighted, part of being so young. He could of left at 30 and still had his whole life in front of him, and financially set up. He'll regret it when it's time to declare bankruptcy.
